Introduction to the Bugaboo Butterfly
Bugaboo believes that families don’t have to go all that far to discover a world of something new. They design extraordinary products and parenting solutions that make spending time together with your child exciting, memorable, and, most importantly, fun, no matter where you go.
Apart from strollers, Bugaboo sells a wide range of baby products – car seats, high chairs and play yards.
Importance & Considerations of Strollers
Mommies mainly considered the following factors when buying the best baby stroller: weight/bulkiness, price point, ease of folding, the safety aspect and if it was comfortable for their baby.
There are many benefits to owning a stroller. A stroller keeps your baby close to you and prevents parents from overstraining themselves from constant carrying. Most strollers can be folded easily and that makes travelling a lot easier.
How Has It Been Using the Bugaboo Butterfly?
After trying out various stroller brands in-store, I found them to be complicated to open and close. However, my experience with the Bugaboo Butterfly over the past three months has been extremely satisfying. I have taken this stroller everywhere, using it on different terrains such as rough paths, uneven ground, and roads.
It has proven to be durable, easily navigating bumpy cobblestone streets thanks to its built-in suspension. The stroller’s one-handed folding and unfolding mechanism is seamless, and it also offers a spacious storage basket, a waterproof hood, and excellent ventilation.

Another great aspect of the Bugaboo Butterfly is its lightweight and agile frame. I adore its color and overall appearance, and the compact fold feature is particularly convenient for road trips as it saves boot space. However, since my baby is still young, I had to purchase the Bugaboo Turtle One car seat by Nuna.
The cushioning alone impressed me, providing exceptional comfort for my baby. Made from incredibly soft merino wool, it ensures my baby is always snug and securely positioned. I appreciate the thoughtful design of the car seat shade, which features magnetic straps on both ends. This eliminates the need for fumbling with noisy buttons or velcro when adjusting the shade for my sleeping baby.
The stroller’s shade provides sufficient coverage for my child while allowing proper airflow. Its sturdy construction also allows her to nap on the go comfortably. If I were to have another child, I would definitely stick with this stroller, knowing that it provides a sense of security and peace of mind based on my experience.
Pros of the Bugaboo Butterfly Stroller
To fold & unfold in 1 second
The ability to effortlessly fold and unfold the Butterfly with just one hand in a matter of seconds is crucial to me. This feature ensures that I can confidently leave the house without any concerns about managing it independently.
Lightweight and compact stroller

Another aspect of this product that appeals to me is its weight (16.1lbs/7.3kg) and size. Although the stroller is not as light as some of the other travel strollers, it is considerably decent to be carried by myself, making it easy to handle, and it occupies minimal space in the car boot.
3 different carrying options

Lastly, the Butterfly provides three carrying options, allowing you to select the one that suits your comfort preferences the best.
Cons of the Bugaboo Butterfly Stroller
Doesn’t cater to infants

One aspect that disappointed me about this stroller is that we were unable to use the stroller from birth. It requires purchasing separate attachments and infant car seats, which can be quite expensive.
Additionally, the process of attaching and detaching the infant car seats from the stroller adapter can be challenging.
Bugaboo Butterfly vs Babyzen YOYO vs Joolz Aer+ vs Nuna Trvl Compact Stroller
This is a comparison table comparing across 4 different brands – Bugaboo Butterfly, Babyzen YOYO2, Joolz Aer+ and Nuna Trvl. It seems that the Bugaboo Butterfly weighs the most (16.1lbs), but provides the largest storage space (17.64lbs).
